About Pictorial Press

Pictorial Press was established in 1938 by three Hollywood producers, among them Lee Garmes who worked on Gone With The Wind.

In the early years a wide range of general interest feature subjects were produced mainly for magazines. From the late 1950's the emphasis has been on music, films, television and general personalities.

The total collection probably runs to more than three million images stored as transparencies, prints and negatives. We are uploading new material to this website every day, but only a small proportion of our total collection is currently available online.
